The following people are the "admins", (members of the administrative board) for ChristianSongwriting.org. Please feel free to contact the appropriate admin if you have any questions or comments. General comments about policies, etc., can be directed to any of the admins, but please consider admins' particular areas of oversight:
The list moderators keep an eye on the discussions in the list to make sure that they are appropriate and on-topic. Please contact any one of them for problems encountered in, or questions about, the list discussions.
The administrative board was formed in 1998 when it became apparent that the old CSG had grown too large to be managed by just a couple people (it reached a membership of over 250 people worldwide, and membership seems to have settled around that number). We felt this would also give us some accountability, and would ensure that no one person would be responsible for making crucial decisions.
In general, the administrative board sets policies for the efficient and courteous operation of the list (e.g.: what topics are/are not appropriate), and attempts to maintain these policies with as little interference as possible. We also determine the operation and contents of the website and handle disputes which may arise within the list, where appropriate.
The list moderators were added in 2002 to assist the admins in keeping the list discussions on-topic and appropriate. Once again, the list had grown so large and busy that the admins alone couldn't effectively watch all the traffic.
ChristianSongwriting.org was formed in December, 1999, when the CSG's sponsor and de facto owner discontinued sponsorship and operation of the group. The name change was necessary because the CSG's sponsor owned the domain name and declined to release it.
